Why I’m Running

I’m John Stirrup and I’m running for Delegate in the new 21st District to serve Prince William County and deliver conservative results - strengthening our economy, protecting parental rights in education, and keeping our community safe.

To continue Virginia’s conservative comeback, we need leadership who knows how to fight, win and deliver on the issues that matter. I’ve been in the arena my entire life - from working in the Reagan White House, serving in Governor McDonnell’s administration and representing the Gainesville District on the Prince William County Board of Supervisors for 8 years. I led the fight to allow local law enforcement to work with ICE to deport criminal illegals, upholding the Rule of Law and keeping our families safe. I fought against tax increases and government overreach, and championed the Rural Crescent to protect our Prince William County way of life.

My record is results, not rhetoric - and to continue restoring the American Dream here in Virginia, we need serious leadership in Richmond to cut through partisanship and get results for our constituents. The Democratic Party’s extreme agenda threatens our economic prosperity, our children’s education and the freedoms we cherish as Virginians.  For three years, Prince William County has not been represented by a single Republican in the House of Delegates.

In 2021, Virginians took a stand against one-party Democratic control and sent a Republican majority to the House of Delegates. Now, with more work to be done and new challenges to overcome, it’s time for Prince William County to have an effective conservative voice representing our values in Richmond.

I’m ready to fight, win and deliver for our community - and I hope you will join me.
